Membership

The Scientific Working Group on Digital Evidence is composed of members approved and voted in from all levels of government, the legal community, private industry, and academia involved in the digital and multimedia forensic profession.

All prospective members must attend two Scientific Working Group on Digital Evidence meetings as a guest to be considered for membership. Membership applications are typically submitted before the prospective member's second meeting. The prospective member's ability to contribute to the Scientific Working Group on Digital Evidence is evaluated throughout the two meetings and membership is voted upon at the conclusion of the second meeting.

Membership application packages can be obtained after a guest has attended their first meeting by emailing the membership committee at membership@swgde.org. New applicants are required to complete the membership application form, Code of Ethics and Conflict Disclosure Statement and obtain a nomination letter by their agency/organization head (in addition to meeting attendance) to be eligible for membership. If you feel that you can contribute to the Scientific Working Group on Digital Evidence and are able to make the time commitment to maintain required meeting attendance, then you are welcome and encouraged to attend two meetings as a guest (see information below) and submit a membership application.

Guest Attendance Only

All persons who have knowledge and skills to contribute are welcome to attend any SWGDE meeting without applying for membership. You must first complete a Guest Attendance Request form which will be made available for a limited time period surrounding each event. Subscribe to our announcement distribution list (via main menu above) to be notified when it becomes available. Once your form has been reviewed and approved, you will be notified and added to the specific meeting distribution list. Please refer to the Events page for more information.
