SWGDE Mission
The Scientific Working Group on Digital Evidence brings together organizations actively engaged in the field of digital and multimedia evidence to foster communication and cooperation as well as ensuring quality and consistency within the forensic community.
SWGDE Committee Missions
Audio Committee
The Audio Committee represents the forensic audio community within the digital and multimedia discipline by promoting best practices, evaluating current research, and assessing the forensic impact of new technology.
Forensic Committee
It is the mission of the Forensic Committee to promote the use of forensically sound techniques in the collection and analysis of digital and multimedia evidence. The Forensic Committee will endeavor to accomplish our mission through the direction of subject matter experts and the publication of technical notes and papers.
Membership Committee
The mission of the Membership Committee is to further the goals of the SWGDE by recruiting qualified members, maintaining accurate membership databases, and processing new member applications.
Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee’s goal is to promote SWGDE's mission and objectives through communication and education efforts. These efforts include maintaining the SWGDE website, attending community conferences and workshops, and various other activities.
Research Committee
As the research arm of SWGDE, our mission is to examine and report on emerging technologies and their effect upon digital and multimedia evidence.
Standards and Accreditation Committee
The mission of the Standards and Accreditation Committee is to establish minimum standards for all aspects of the discipline of digital and multimedia evidence for both practitioners and accrediting bodies.
